We now offer consignment sales of your musical instrument. If you aren't playing, give someone else the chance and make a little money.
You set the price, and we retain 25% when the instrument sells.
We have the basics for your band student including a variety of reeds for single and double reeded instruments, oil for brass instruments, neck straps, and cleaning kits.
We also sell strings for guitar, electric bass, and violin.
We sell used cds for $3 each. We carry 100's of cds in all kinds of genres.
We can do special orders. Normally we can have the item to you in a week, but we do require 100% deposit for special orders.
All items are priced at manufacturer's suggested retail price. We don't gouge our customers.
Rawlins Music Academy Staff
Barb Ramsey- has been an elementary school music instructor for 28 years. She has been playing the piano for 57 years, and enjoys reading and knitting. Barb is a graduate of the University of Wyoming.
Gail Lorick- believes there is a correlation between music and computers in that they both allow a person to be creative and precise. She has been playing the piano for 36 years, and teaching piano for seven. Gail has two pet parakeets- Jimmie and Mac.
Anthony Hudson- is a middle school teacher. He plays rhythm and bass guitar and would love to teach others to do the same. Anthony is using his i-Pad to record examples for students to listen to.
Chad Fross- Chad loves music. He's been playing the guitar and drum kit for 25 years, and has learned the clawhammer banjo. Chad grew up in Illinois, was a member of the 101st Airborne in Afghanistan, and speaks Russian and Spanish fluently. Chad knows a lot about music theory and can help the serious musician prepare for any jam session.
Violin Instructor We are without a violin instructor at this time, but violinsts of varying abilities meet every other Tuesday night to encourage one another and play. Anyone can join Violin Support Group, so just call and check our schedule.
Della Smith- a member of the National Flute Association, has been playing the flute for 42 years and teaching for 20 years. Della is a member of the chamber trio, Interlude. She considers the recorder to be the perfect instrument for beginning musicians. When not playing she enjoys reading, old movies, and riding motorcycles with her husband.
Judy Tigner- has played in a variety of ensembles including the Colorado State University marching band, Golden Colorado community symphony orchestra, and Interlude, a classical trio. Judy loves cats, and it a founding member of JECC.
Kress Hembree- had her first percussion lesson in 1959, and she has been drumming ever since. Her specialty is reading percussion music, and she emphatically believes that percussion is not 'just banging'.
Jenita Calton- has been active in the operation of the Rawlins Music Academy for three years. She plays the trombone in Jubilante, directs the handbell program, and is a violin student. Needless to say, Jenita loves music!
